Carboncitos

You see this? This is a giant appetizer of wonderment.
Pico de Gallo, pumpkin salsa, a couple other salsas...

I was in charge of the food. I'm not sure if it was because of my innate ability to find something to shovel into my mouth or because no one else wanted the responsibility if it all went wrong. Probably a bit of both.
It was our last night in Playa del Carmen and the beautiful, laid back town was in the midst of some sort of hurricane or monsoon or El Nino...something. We were soaked and tired and just ready to eat.
Looking at the map, Carboncitos did not seem to be too far away. Everyone was on board, which was good, since it was a bit further than it originally seemed. Walking always does that. Walking through what feels like a carwash makes every step feel like miles.

But we made it, wet, but, in good spirits. And it did not take long before we were in better spirits...i.e. the food arrived.

Jodie & Aaron and their drinks.
Aaron had a lemonade and Jodie had some sort of sickly sweet milky concoction.

The group of us at Carboncitos.
You can't tell from the picture, but, the world's end is nigh right outside that restaurant.

Aaron's meal...most of us got the tacos. It was just a nice plate of delicious meat and all the tortillas you could stuff in your face. It was heaven this side of Armageddon.

Believe it or not, those are David's nachos.  Somewhere under that pig are chips.
They never knew what hit 'em.
